Anyone else (in 'the Close') that wants to upload their pictures either email them to enquiries@scoobypedia.co.uk or follow this simple procedure:

Formatting your pictures prior to uploading

1. Resize all your picures to 800 pixels wide or smaller
2. Each picture must also be smaller than 500KB (half a megabyte)
3. Pictures can be either jpg, png, gif or bmp format
4. Rename your picture files something meaningful so I know who's camera they came from e.g. StevesPic1.jpg, StevesPic2.gif, etc.

Upload overview

Basically my web pages can be editted by anyone (you?) simply by clicking edit on any page. Uploading a picture involves 'attaching' your picture to a page by editting the page and saving it. You'll then click the attachment you have added to upload the picture. You'll refresh the page and view the result - simple right?

This is described in more detail below.

Upload procedure

At the bottom of the previous page you will notice an 'Attach:MyPicture.jpg' item. This is an example you'll use in the procedure below:

1. Recommend you open two Browser windows (use File > New Window) - one to view these instructions and one to view the page you want to edit.
2. Whilst looking at the page you want to edit/upload click the 'Edit' button (top corner)
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see 'Attach:MyPicture.jpg'
4. Take a copy of the 'Attach:MyPicture.jpg' paragraph. If you have more than one picture to upload make more copies of this paragraph.
5. Change the 'MyPicture.jpg' to match the exact name of each of your pictures. Ensure you use the same capital letters and file format, for example all of these files are different: stevepic1.jpg, stevepic1.gif, StevePic1.jpg, StevePic1.gif
6. Replace the example caption of each picture. Note, the quotes ''' around the caption text simply makes it bold.
7. Type your name (or nickname) in to the 'Author' field (bottom of page). This is used to track changes people make to pages.
8. Click 'Save' to save the page and view the result.
9. You'll notice one or more 'Attach:MyPicture.jpg' links that you have just added. When you upload your picture (in the next step) the 'Attach' item(s) will be replaced with your actual picture.
10. Now for each picture, click the 'Attach' item to go the upload page.
11. The all you have to do is click the 'Browse' button and find the relevant file on your computer.
12. Then click upload. Repeat the last two steps for each picture.
13. Refresh the original page and you should now see your pictures.
